On this project we were approached by our client who had previously had several solar companies out to quote and assess this job in the past.
None of them were able to offer a solution for what our client wanted.
Our client had a large area of un-used garden where they wanted solar panels, but did NOT want to do any ground works of any kind.
So we opted for a new type of ‘ground screw’ fixing system to install our solar panel mounting system onto.
We got in a specialist contractor to install 10x big 1.2 meter ground screws in precise locations for our mounting system.
Once they were down, we installed a specialist mounting system, which we assembled onsite from scratch.
We installed 18x high output solar PV panels, 1x 5kw solar PV inverter, 1x 3kw AC charger (for the battery system) and a 9.5kw storage battery.
A monstrous 80m cable run with some of our cables back to the fuseboard, not for the faint hearted!
The whole system was designed and specified by us.
An important part of this project was to comply with the planning permission our client had in place, which we obviously made sure we did!
This project was so much fun to be a part of and we really did love every minute of it!!!
